Preview: South Carolina 2008
This Saturday in Columbia South Carolina marks Georgia's first real test of the season. The Dawgs have looked good beating up Georgia Southern and Central Michigan at home, but let's face it, those teams aren't very good. South Carolina suffered their first lost last week against Vanderbilt. Before Dawg fans start getting too excited it's good to remember we barely beat Vandy last year. USC has an outstanding defense their Achilles Heel has been the offense. I don't expect South Carolina to score more than 17 points in this game. If the Dawgs can put a couple of early scores on the board this thing could get ugly.
After losing to the Gamecocks last year there's no doubt the Dawgs will be prepared for this game. Is Georgia as good as all the hype? This game won't tell us too much, but the Dawgs cannot lose in Columbia. The schedule isn't going to forgive a loss this early in the season. South Carolina plays well in games like this so I expect it to be close, but the Dawgs will eventually impose their will.
Final Score: UGA 26 - USC 13
