Dawgs Run All Over the Gators
It wasn't a game for people who love defense. The Dawgs scored over forty points to win 42-30. Georgia was able to win the war on the ground thanks to a huge game from Knowshon Moreno. The Gators were banged up and missing players. There's no doubt the week gave the Dawgs an advantage coming into the game. Considering all the bad luck we've had against Florida the past 18 years I am not ready to feel sorry for the Gators.
This win goes a long way in making this game a rivalry again. Georgia came out aggressive, perhaps over aggressive, but the Gators didn't have an answer for our running attack. When we needed a big pass play Stafford came through. I'm not a big fan of showing up the opponent, but the Dawgs' endzone celebration will not soon be forgotten. There's no doubt the Gators will remember that for awhile.
With the win the Dawgs move into a tie for first place with the obnoxious Vols in the East. We don't control our own destiny but there's too much work to be done to really even think about winning the East. Despite the win we've got a leaky defense. Florida is really banged up on defense. We can build from this win and the next test is to finish the drill against Auburn and Kentucky. The Dawgs are young, but if we can hold on for the rest of the season it will be a huge confidence boost going into 2008.
