Dawgs Tame Cowboys in Season Opener

The Dawgs opened the 2007 campaign in fine fashion defeating Oklahoma State 35-14. The first half went back and forth. The difference between the two teams was the botched punch on the first Cowboy possession. Georgia held the vaunted Cowboy offense to 266 total yards. In the second half everything went the Dawgs way. I have to give credit to Coach Willie Martinez. Many times I have criticized his tactics but it appears (at least over the last 5 games) that our defense is really tightening up, especially in the second half of games.

What can we take from this game? I'm not so sure. The Oklahoma State defense appeared a bit soft to me. We were able to rush the ball effectively on them, which is amazing for a team with no returning starting offensive linemen. Stafford looked good and the defense looks like it is ready for great year. Next week against the Gamecocks we'll get a better idea how our offense performs against a SEC defense. Great win for the Dawgs, and start for the season
