Georgia loses to Florida, Again

Typical of the 2006 season Georgia did all the small things necessary to lose to the Gators 21-14. Florida came out of the gate quickly and scored two touchdowns, very similar to last season's game. After their second touchdown the Gators were bad on offense. Fortunately for the Gators Georgia was able to help them score another touchdown with a turnover at the beginning of the second half. I have written quite a bit about the defense this season, and it is bad, but yesterday's game loss can be handed to the offense. Our offensive line doesn't protect, our receivers don't catch, our running backs fumble the ball, and we have a true freshman quarterback. This all adds up to five turnovers.

I'm not sure how we've gotten so bad on the offensive line and at receiver. Our tight-end situation is abysmal as well. Matthew Stafford made a couple of bad decisions, but overall he played about as good as someone without any protection could play. There were also some bad officiating, but with SEC referees I am used to terrible calls. The Dawgs had their chances but ultimately the turnovers cost us the game.
